A welcome by prof. dr. Agneta Fischer, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences.

Followed by a key note presentation by dr. Inge van der Weijden.
Inge van der Weijden has a PhD in social sciences (2007). She is currently researcher and coordinator of the Career Policy & Paths in Science (CPPS) working group at the Leiden University. She conducts research on the motivation, selection, and evaluation of scholars in order to better understand career development of scientists.
Dr. van der Weijden is co-author of the book 'Which Grass is Greener', in which the authors show that the gap between the academic versus public/private sector is smaller than expected, because of the transferable skills PhD's develop during their studies. Dr. van der Weijden will elaborate on this in her key note lecture.
After the presentation, there's room for a Q&A.
